Reverend Albert L. Manson, Sr.

Pastor Albert Lee Manson, Sr. served in various educational leadership capacities on the District, State, and Mid-West Region level. During his lifetime, he was President of the Congress Education, Financial Officer, and Parliamentarian for the St. Louis Progressive Missionary Baptist District Association. Upon his untimely death, he was teaching a course on Zoom for the St. Louis Progressive District Association; “Knowing the New Testament”. He was so excited about this course that you could feel the enthusiasm in every word taught. He served as President of the Missouri Progressive Missionary Baptist State Convention, Inc. twice (1999 and in 2014) because he wanted to do more to help advance the kingdom of God. He felt that “Ordinary People” could become “Extraordinary People” with the help of the Lord.
Pastor Manson, Sr. believed that God was first in his life as he served others. He became the recipient of many awards, certificates, letters, plaques, proclamations and resolutions. He believed in giving back to the community by serving on the Mathews Dickey Boy’s and Girl’s Club as Commissioner, the Surrey Lane Athletic Association as Treasurer and as a coach for the St. Louis Browns Baseball Team. Just recently he decided to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children who were fatherless. He became their voice. He mentored young boys to men and performed community outreach throughout the City of St. Louis. His leisure time was spent bowling in the Mike Wrice Memorial League.
His greatest accomplishment was when he answered God’s call to lead the people of Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He has always been a man of action and vision. He wasn’t boastful. He allowed his “work to speak for him”. He was a man who had seen many of his visions come to fruition. He spent twelve agonizing years toiling to rebuild the sanctuary that we presently worship in today. With his strong faith in God and steadfastness, he refused to be distracted. He fought like a warrior, he suffered, and he constantly prayed to God. He didn’t give up when others said he couln’t do it. He stood as a man and fought a good fight. He was a faithful servant until the end. He finished his course and he kept the faith.
